We are so proud of Caitlin and Naomi, who will be leaving us this year to begin their formal training. Caitlin will be studying a BA (Hons) in Musical Theatre at Leeds Conservatoire and Naomi will be studying a CERT HE Musical Theatre Performance at Italia Conti.

CATS Alumus wins Stephen Sondheim Competition

CATS Alumus, Milly Willows is crowned as the winner of the Stephen Sondheim Society Student Performer of the Year 2023. This highly acclaimed competition sees sees 12 finalists – whittled down this year from 250 applicants – compete for a £1,000 first prize by singing a classic Sondheim number, and also a song from a new or recent musical theatre show.

Milly played many leading roles at CATS including Frenchie in Grease, Dorothy in Wizard of Oz and Ms Hannigan in Annie. Milly recently graduated from Italia Conti

Television and Film success for Swansea Student

CATS Swansea student, Elin has been showing off her acting skills in not one, but two big projects this spring!

Elin can be seen in as a featured character in the dark BBC Series, “Inside No.9” alongside stars Reece Shearsmith and Steve Pemberton.

Elin has also recently completed filming of “Y Sŵn” for S4C. This Welsh Language film is set in Wales in 1979 and focuses on Gwynfor Evans and his campaign for a Welsh language television channel in Wales.

“The Left Behind” wins BAFTA

We are thrilled to see “The Left Behind” win a BAFTA for “Best Single Drama”. This BBC Drama features CATS Pontardawe student Gracie Marks playing the role of Sophie.

Jill Williams joins The Lion King

Founder of Class Act Theatre School, Jill Williams is about to take on a huge new role. After 20 years of running CATS, Jill will be joining the company of Disney’s “The Lion King” as Resident Director for the UK and Ireland Touring Company, Jill will be in charge of keeping the show to the high standards we expect to see when going to the theatre!
We are all so proud of Jill and she continues to inspire and support us here in CATS

CATS students WOW Hollywood Star

Class Act Theatre School was thrilled to be invited to perform for Catherine Zeta Jones, her family and a whole host of guest when she was Honoured with the Freedom of the City of Swansea at The Brangwyn Hall.

Students came together from all schools to perform a 20 minute Medley of Musical Numbers that represented Catherine’s on Stage and Screen. We were thrilled to see Catherine giving us a standing ovation from the audience!
