Due to the positive response from the questionnaire issued, I am going ahead with Summer Workshop Experience at Pontardawe Arts Centre on Wednesday August 25th and Thursday August 26th with one day given to an intensive Musical Theatre Workshop teaching extracts from a well known musical and the other to an intensive Acting Workshop examining a variety of different acting styles.
The hours will be from 9:30am-3:30pm and you would need to attend both days. Please can you complete the booking form (contact me if you don’t have one) and return with payment by July 20th. The numbers are limited and the cost is £30 for the two days. You will need to bring a snack and packed lunch on both days and wear suitable rehearsal clothes/footwear.
Due to the intensity of the day/work all participants should currently be in Year 5 and above in order to attend. Students will be put into age groups for the course.
Many thanks, Jill
On Thursday February 25th at St David’s School in West Cross the Welsh National Youth Opera selected our Theatre School to deliver a free workshop. This was a fantastic opportunity to work with this renowned company and learn from the experts.
We are running vocal workshops for the Male cast of 13 starting on Saturday Jan 30th at Pontardawe Arts Centre lead by Matthew Bawden and James Scannell featuring singing and vocal work. If you are interested in finding out more please ask Jill or if you are a girl and would like the same opportunity, please let Jill know and we can organise this too! The workshop is for a minimum of 6 max 10 and costs £40 for 4 sessions.
At Class Act Theatre School we place great importance on all our students experiencing a variety of Theatre Performance skills. In April 2007 we held 4 days of intensive workshops involving over 90 students at Pontardawe Arts Centre where the students worked with a variety of professional artists. The students aged between 7 and 18 years experienced Circus Skills, Acting for Television, Character Building exercises, Vocal training, Musical Direction, Musical Theatre and Stage Combat techniques.
The workshop culminated in a performance by Guy Masterson of the acclaimed Fern Hill followed by a postshow talk.
Belonging to Class Act, students are encouraged to experiment with new forms of Theatre, and a workshop such as this provides a perfect forum for this to happen.
