Founder Principal Jill Williams B.Ed Drama First Class Honours /MA Drama with Distinction


A first class (Hons) graduate of the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama - Jill launched Class Act Theatre School in 1999 producing numerous shows and has become a recognised Theatre Director and supporter of Drama with Young People. With an MA in Reflective Theatre - Jill continues to push boundaries within the Performing Arts and life coaching. Jill is passionate about life, achieving ambitions and the Arts being accessible to all.

Jill is delighted with her new role as Resident Director on Disney's The Lion King UK and Dublin Tour from July 2019. Her daughter Amber will be Interim Principal at Pontardawe from September 2019. Amber was a member of CATS from its inception and then trained at Mountview Theatre Arts in London. Amber is excited to lead Pontardawe CATS and direct their 2020 show!

Amber Williams BA (Hons) Early years Education and Care.


Amber has always had a passion for Performing Arts being the youngest member of CATS when her mother Jill launched the Theatre School in 1999.

After achieving Triple Distinction in Performing Arts at Gwyr College Amber auditioned and was accepted to study Musical Theatre at Mountview Theatre Arts, London.

Whilst at Mountview Amber made her West End debut in ‘Angry Birds’, a new musical about the Suffragette Movement at The Other Palace. She is an accomplished singer having performed bilingually across Wales and has had the pleasure of working with organisations such as the Royal Shakespeare Company and National Theatre.

Amber graduated from University of Wales Trinity Saint David this summer with a First in her BA Hons in Early years Education and Care. Amber has worked in both English and Welsh Primary Schools in Swansea not only due to her passion for children early years development but also due to her dedication for children wellbeing and safeguarding.

Amber has always been committed to working with and inspiring students at the theatre school and is delighted to be taking the reins from her mother as Principal of Pontardawe.

Gareth Mitchell

Gareth Mitchell BA Honours Arts Educational School London


Gareth returns to Swansea after 10 years of working as a professional Musical Theatre Performer. Since graduating from ArtsEd, London he has worked in many forms of theatre from Musicals, to immersive theatre experiences and singing aboard luxury Cruise Ships. 

Between contracts Gareth has developed his passion for teaching in Wales as well as in London, working with Perform UK, Y and T, Gower and Neath Port Talbot Colleges and returning to CATS as a teacher and choreographer.

Gareth is thrilled to be moving back to Swansea to take over as Principal from his friend and mentor Jill Williams and is excited to nurture the next generation of performers!
