Plenty of fairy dust from energetic cast

Plenty of fairy dust from energetic cast

Review by Evan Frank - South Wales Evening Post, 20 December 2009

PANTO season arrived in the Swansea Valley with a liberal sprinkling of fairy dust thanks to dozens of young stage stars.

The large castís joie de vivre reflected a powerful team ethic among everyone involved.

There was a string of glorious dance pieces, hearty ensemble songs and stand-out solos.

This was traditional, clean family fun with splendid salvos of modernity Ė plenty of nods towards Gavin and Stacey. The company exhibited much energy, humour and stage skill.

Costume changes were colourful, slick and seamless; big-hitter songs such as (Iíve Had) The Time of My Life from Dirty Dancing were presented aplomb.

Key players include Liz Thomas (Fairy Godmother), Lowri Thomas and Cerys Thompson (Cinderella), Siobhan Fitzgerald and Nia Powell (Fliss), Liz Stretton (Prince Charming), Jonathan Lloyd Davies (Dame Blod), Matthew Bawden and Christian Webb (Buttons), Sophie Evans (Dandini), and Hannah Mason and Hannah Dunne (Ugly Sisters).
