Snow White takes a bow at story-telling sessions

South Wales Evening Post, 12 November 2010

Characters from this year's production at Pontardawe Arts Centre took time out from rehearsals to visit young readers at the town's library.

Snow White, played by Cerys Thompson, was joined by Liz Thomas as Prince Robbie of Rhos, when they visited for a story-telling session.

The visit, like the pantomime, has been organised by Swansea-based Class Act Theatre School (Cats).

School principal Jill Williams said: “The session was fantastic fun.”

“Cerys and Liz told the traditional Snow White story and children lapped it up.”

More than 100 young people, aged from 9 to 19, are involved in the production at the arts centre, which runs from December 13 to 22.

&The actors, who have been rehearsing the production for several weeks, come from all over Swansea and Neath Port Talbot.

Cats has more than 300 members aged as young as seven.

Weekly classes are held in Cockett, Pontardawe and West Cross.
