Musical extended

South Wales Evening Post, 3 July 2010

Huge ticket demand for a Swansea Grand Theatre show by talented schoolchildren has seen its number of performances increased.

The production of 21st Century teen musical 13, by Swansea’s Class Act Theatre School, was originally due to enjoy four shows.

However, quickfire sell-outs at the box office mean an extra two shows have been arranged.

CATS principal Jill Williams said: “We knew 13 would be popular but are thrilled with the response.

“Audiences know that we’ve always presented top-class ensemble musicals and I’m sure that’s helped with ticket sales.

“It’s fantastic that the Swansea public can be so supportive of local young people who give so much energy and talent to their theatre studies.”

CATS students have been working on the show since mid-March.

The production is directed by Jill Williams.
